SPECIAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STAFF ASSOCIATION
The Staff Committee
is pleased to convene a Special Staff Assembly on May 11, 2009
at 3:00 p.m in the Ruben Dario room, pursuant to Article 9 of
the Statutes of the Staff Association, to consider the items listed
in the attached Agenda.

This Special Assembly is convened in
response to the petition from the staff members at the last Special
Assembly (July 1st, 2008). In compliance with Article
41 of the Statutes, the purpose of the meeting is to review and
approve amendments to the Statutes.

Since it is expected that a vote will be
taken on the proposal presented in the petition, the Staff is
reminded of the provisions of Article 11 of the Statutes:
“Article 11 –Quorum
The presence of 25 percent
of the members of the Staff Association shall constitute a quorum.
Decisions shall be made by a majority of those present at the time
of voting. Procedures shall be governed by Robert’s Rules of
Order.”
The Department of Human Resources has
kindly agreed that Staff will be excused from work in order to
attend the Special Assembly.
