ADJUSTMENT TO THE 2007 PROGRAM-BUDGET 

On Wednesday, December 13, 2006, Ambassador Francisco Villagrán de León,
Chair of the CAAP, submitted to the Permanent Council a draft resolution
 prepared by the General Secretariat (CP/CAAP-2870/06 rev. 1),
 whereby the Permanent Council authorized the additional funding in the 2007 budget
needed to cover increases in statutory costs, including those related to staff costs. 

The Staff Committee is pleased to inform the staff that the Permanent Council
adopted the following draft resolution:

The President of the Staff Association and the Staff Committee wish to acknowledge,
on behalf of all OAS staff members, the tremendous efforts made by the
Secretary General and the Secretariat for Administration and Finance,
and the leadership demonstrated by the Chair of the Committee on Administrative
and Budgetary Affairs (CAAP), to bring about a satisfactory and constructive
conclusion to the deliberations and decisions on the necessary adjustments to the
program-budget of the Organization for 2007.  

Likewise, the Staff Association expresses its appreciation to the permanent
representatives of the member states who adopted this resolution. 
It requests that a permanent solution be found to address adjustments
authorized pursuant to the General Standards, General Assembly resolutions,
and the obligations assumed by the General Secretariat and staff members.
