MEASURES PROPOSED BY THE SECRETARY GENERAL
As a follow-up to Staff News
#11/04-05, dated September 20, 2004, the Staff Committee wishes to inform
that on Friday, September 24, 2004, representatives of the Committee met
with Mr. Donald Monroe, Advisor to the Secretary General, to reiterate the
staff's request for a written document containing the measures proposed by
the Secretary General in response to the financial and budgetary crisis
facing the OAS. Mr. Monroe stated that he believed that the Secretary
General’s proposal would be presented to the Staff Committee some time this
week. Once it receives the proposal, the Staff Committee will convene a
special General Assembly in order to inform staff members of the content
and implications of the Secretary General's proposal.

News #11/04-05, fechado 20 de septiembre de 2004, el Comité del Personal
informa que el viernes 24 de septiembre de 2004, representantes del Comité
se reunieron con el Sr. Donald Monroe, Asesor del Secretario General, para
reiterar la solicitud del personal de un documento escrito que contenga las
medidas propuestas por el Secretario General en respuesta a la crisis
financiera y presupuestaria que enfrenta la OEA. El Sr. Monroe indicó que
considera que la propuesta del Secretario General será presentada al Comité
del Personal en el transcurso de esta semana. Una vez se reciba la
propuesta, el Comité del Personal convocará a una Asamblea Extraordinaria
para informar a los funcionarios sobre el contenido e implicaciones de la
propuesta del Secretario General.
