ELECTORAL PROCESS
2004-2005
In accordance with Article
32 of the Statutes of the Staff Association, the Nominating Committee met
on May 21, 2004, and elected Héctor Rocha as President, Oscar Chavera as
Vice President, and María Eugenia Zarzycki as Secretary.
The Nominating Committee
urges the members of the Staff Association to present candidates for
President of the Staff Association and as members of the Staff Committee,
as well as a representative and an alternate on the Retirement and Pension
Committee, using the attached nominating petition.
The election of a Staff
Association President and a Staff Committee to zealously represent the
interests of staff members of the General Secretariat is of crucial
importance. It is the duty of each staff member to carefully select the
nominees and to give them full and enthusiastic support.
Nomination is an honor and
a trust that should be valued and is an opportunity to participate in the
empowerment of our Association and of the Organization.
The presentation of each
proposed candidate should be accompanied by a brief resume in English
and/or Spanish and a recent photograph, preferably black and white, of the
candidate.
Nominations must be
delivered to the President of the Nominating Committee, Hector Rocha, or to
any Nominating Committee member (Oscar Chavera, Maria Eugenia Zarzycki,
Lincoln Bernardes, Zakaria El Goumiri, Rosane Martins, or Rolando Zúñiga)
by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, June 4, 2004. Each nomination must be endorsed by
the signatures of at least six staff members of the General Secretariat.
The deadline for
presentation of candidates is 5:00 p.m. on Friday, June 4, 2004.

De acuerdo con el artículo
32 de los Estatutos de la Asociación del Personal, el Comité de
Nominaciones celebró su reunión constitutiva el 21 de mayo de 2004,
designando a Héctor Rocha como Presidente, a Oscar Chavera como
Vicepresidente y a María Eugenia Zarzycki como Secretaria.
El Comité de Nominaciones
insta a los miembros de la Asociación del Personal a presentar candidatos
para los cargos de Presidente y Miembros del Comité del Personal, así como
para Representante y Representante Suplente ante la Comisión de
Jubilaciones y Pensiones, utilizando la papeleta de nominaciones que se
acompaña.
La elección de un
Presidente y de un Comité del Personal que representen arduamente los
intereses de los funcionarios de la Secretaría General es de extrema
importancia. Es deber de cada funcionario seleccionar cuidadosamente los
candidatos nominados y apoyarlos de manera entusiasta.
El ser nominado representa
un honor y una muestra de confianza que deben ser apreciadas, además de
constituir una oportunidad de participar en el fortalecimiento, tanto de
nuestra Asociación como de la Organización.
La presentación de cada
candidatura deberá ser acompañada de una breve reseña biográfica en inglés
y/o español, además de una fotografía reciente.
Las nominaciones deben ser
entregadas al Presidente del Comité de Nominaciones, Héctor Rocha, o a
cualquiera de los miembros del Comité de Nominaciones (Oscar Chavera, María
Eugenia Zarzycki, Lincoln Bernardes, Zakaria El Goumiri, Rosane Martins o
Rolando Zúñiga) antes de las 5:00 p.m. del viernes, 4 de junio de 2004.
Cada nominación debe estar respaldada por las firmas de por lo menos 6
funcionarios de la Secretaría General.
La fecha límite para la
presentación de candidatos es el viernes, 4 de junio de 2004.
