Did you know that all OAS staff members are members of the Staff Association? Article 4 of the Statutes of the Staff Association states that "All members of the Staff of the General Secretariat are de facto members of the Staff Association" and therefore enjoy all the rights associated with this membership:  the right to vote at Assembly Meetings; the right to elect and be elected as members of the Staff Committee; and the right to be represented and receive advice in specific cases regarding the current rules and procedures of the Organization. Some members are also contributing members, by making a voluntary monthly contribution to the Association, and are therefore entitled to additional benefits. Those benefits for contributing members include: Access to student loans through the Leo S. Rowe Fund; The (US$5,000) Loyalty Benefit - granted to designated beneficiaries following the death of the staff member; Financial support to cover (1 hour) legal fees  (related to employee grievance cases); Discounts at various local gyms: IDRA, WSC and GW; Preferential health insurance rates for domestic staff; Discounts with “TicketsAtWork” (theater, Theme parks in Orlando, Broadway’s shows, etc); Discounts with Capital BikeShare; Free Yoga classes at the Headquarters; · Discounts for Language classes promoted by the Staff Association; and · Cost-free access to social events sponsored by the Staff Association.
