The event will show two audiovisual and artistic documentaries which will frame an open discussion, question and answer period.

We will be joined by:

1.       Carlos Quesada, an expert on topics related to the human rights of LGBTI persons in the region.

2.       Betilde V. Muñoz-Pogossian, Acting Director of the Department of Social Inclusion
(Executive Secretariat for Integral Development), will offer a few closing remarks.

The International Day against Homophobia and Transphobia (“IDAHOT”) is celebrated every year on May 17 to mark the landmark occasion of the removal of homosexuality from the list of mental illnesses by the World Health Organization (WHO) on May 17, 1990.

This is an opportunity to reflect and bring awareness to the violence and discrimination suffered by lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer and intersex persons throughout the region and the across the globe.
