Training on the Rights of LGBTI Persons: Conversation with students from the University of Maryland The Rapporteurship on the Rights of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex (LGBTI) Persons of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights, and the Staff Association, would like to invite you to a “Speakers Bureau”: a one hour capacity building / discussion session on sexual orientation and gender identity and expression. The session will be conducted by LGBTI persons from the University of Maryland. This activity will consist of basic LGBTI 101 education, including personal experiences shared by the speakers, and a question and answer session.  The event will take place on Monday, November 17, in the Padilla Vidal room (TL) from 1:45 to 3 pm. The event will start promptly at 1:45 pm. We will also take this opportunity to present a short video edited by Lucas Ramón Mendos, from the LGBTI Rapporteurship, on the situation of the rights of LGBTI persons in the region. The panel discussion will begin at 2 pm.  Please RSVP at your earliest convenience to Fanny Gomez - [email protected] Entrenamiento sobre los Derechos de Personas LGBTI: Conversación con estudiantes de la Universidad de Maryland La Relatoría sobre los Derechos de las Personas Lesbianas, Gays, Bisexuales, Trans e Intersex (LGBTI) de la Comisión Interamericana de Derechos Humanos, y la Asociación del Personal, desean extender una cordial invitación a la charla  "Speakers Bureau": una sesión de debate/capacitación de una hora sobre orientación sexual e identidad y expresión de género. La sesión estará a cargo de personas LGBTI de la Universidad de Maryland y consistirá en un taller sobre conceptos básicos en materia LGBTI, así como experiencias personales que compartirán los y las ponentes y una sesión de preguntas y respuestas. El evento tendrá lugar el día lunes, 17 de noviembre, en el salón Padilla Vidal (TL) de 1:45 a 3 pm. El evento comenzará puntualmente a la 1:45 pm. Asimismo, aprovecharemos esta oportunidad para presentar un breve video editado por Lucas Ramón Mendos, integrante de la Relatoría, sobre la situación de los derechos de las personas LGBTI en la región.
